Year 5 - Seascapes Featured

Written by  on Monday, 13 November 2017.

Welcome to our Year 5 Art gallery below.  We hope you enjoy looking at the beautiful seascapes that were painted during Art lessons with Mrs Shepherd and Mrs Hart this Autumn term.

Amethyst and Tanzanite classes discussed the atmospheric perspective of pictures for enhancing paintings. They used light to add atmosphere and depth, mixed two or three colours together to create different hues, tones and shades and painted with varying brushstrokes to create interesting textures.

“I think the wavy lines worked well to look like the waves were moving.”    KATE

“The stippling was effective.” PHILIPPA

“Next time I would add a bit more white paint to the blue paint so the blue will become lighter.” NIVEN

“I will make my paint less watery and improve my brushstrokes to make the waves flicker.” MICAH

“I have learnt to make a wash of colours.” PAIGE
