Fairtrade at The Vine.

Written by  on Wednesday, 25 April 2018.

On Tuesday 27th March, after weeks of preparation, Year 4's hard work finally paid off, resulting in a hugely successful Fairtrade sale.

The children have been learning about Fairtrade and its impact on the lives of the people who are helped by this organisation, and wanted to share this with their parents and carers.

In the weeks leading up to the sale, all of the children (and adults!) have enjoyed crafting items such as  bookmarks, creating wall hangings, baking cakes and choreographing a carnival-style dance, practising their drumming and Spanish singing. It was FANTASTICO!

Parents and carers were invited in to watch our sharing assembly as well as support Fairtrade, by buying the lovely things that the children had made - the cakes and the art work! Our guests were then treated to two fantastic dance demonstrations; one from each class, they have been very busy choreographing and practising their Rio dances, they put on a wonderful show. The children were also able to show off some fabulous drumming, and some great singing- acapella!

Well-done to all of the pupils, for their enthusiasm and their hard work.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the event.

Smiles all round! We raised over £200 for the charity Fairtrade. Wow!
