Fun at the farm!

Written by  on Wednesday, 11 May 2016.

This term Pre-School have been finding out all about farm animals. The children have been having a great time mucking out and bottle feeding all the animals in our farm. Next door to the farm we have our thriving farm shop! From here you can purchase fresh vegetables, flowers and milk.

The cows from The Vine Farm have given lots of milk, which we have used to make milkshake at snack time. We also used cream from the cows to make butter! All we had to do was shake the cream in a jar, and then we enjoyed spreading the butter onto cream crackers ready for snack time. It was delicious! Carrying on with the cow theme we used cow shaped cutters to make cow biscuits.

This week we had a very special visitor come to Pre-School. Blossom’s grandma brought her Shetland pony Jessie to see us! We watched as she nibbled away at the grass and took it in turns to stroke her lovely soft coat! Did you know that horses wear nail varnish on their toes? It’s a special oil that they put on their hooves to protect them and keep them shiny!
