Pre-School £10 Challenge

Written by  on Wednesday, 22 June 2016.

At the end of last year each year group was given a £10 by the Chair of Governors Mr. Simon Tullett. The idea being to see how with a small investment, big ideas and some hard work we could watch our money grow.

At Pre-School we all love to paint, we decided that we would create our own masterpieces and sell them to our families and friends. Using our £10 we asked a carpenter to make us boards to display our art work.

We looked at the work of Wassily Kandinsky. He was a Russian artist, who became famous for his love of abstract art. Abstract art means it does not represent anything but uses shape and colour to achieve its effect.

We used masking tape to divide our paper into sections. We then filled each section with a different colour. Finally we used some of the Pre-School toys to print with. We were very proud of our finished work.

A huge thank you to the parents for their support, we are very pleased to tell you we made £100. The money we raised is being sent to the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’.

Great work Pre-School!
