Chinese New Year in Year Six

Written by  on Friday, 09 February 2018.

Yesterday afternoon, as Chinese New Year is during half term, Emma – who is partly Chinese – generously brought in red envelopes containing chocolate coins. There was also

a dog keyring in the envelopes as this year it is the Year of the Dog. It is a tradition that on the first day ofChinese New Year, you give money in a red envelope. As we couldn’t give real money out, Emma gave year six chocolate coins. There was a message on all theenvelopes which was in Chinese and wished everyone good luck for the future.
