Year 3 Dance Share

Written by  on Wednesday, 15 March 2017.

On Monday 6th March, Jasper and Turquoise classes travelled to Comberton Village College to take part in the Dance Share, where schools from the local area gathered to share and perform dance.

Jasper class performed their ‘Hunter Gatherers’ dance which was linked to Year 3’s Autumn topic of the Stone Age. Through their dance, they showed a day in the life of a Hunter Gatherer living in the Stone Age. Turquoise class performed their ‘Volcano’ dance, linked to our current topic of Extreme Earth. Their dance portrayed a dramatic, volcanic eruption. These dances were a culmination of a six week unit of dance in P.E. lessons.

We also enjoyed watching the other schools performing their dances. There was a wide range of performances, from young reception children up to A-level students, which we found inspiring. However, Year 3’s favourite was probably the dance performed to the Rio sound track.

Year 3 worked extremely hard to choreograph, practise and perfect their dances before performing them at Comberton. We had a fantastic time and the children made The Vine extremely proud with their amazing performances. Well done Year 3!
