Some of the artefacts were rather stinky!
Also, as archaeologists, we created replica artefacts using clay. We created beautiful pots which were decorated using sticks, string and other objects that the prehistoric people would have been able to use.
During the afternoon, we explored the site, learning about how people lived in Prehistoric times. We discovered how important Flag Fen was during the Bronze Age. Walking around, we saw real Bronze Age boats and learnt how they are being preserved in wax. There was a huge bridge built across the water which archaeologists think took 60,000 trees to build! We were told by our guide that in 30 years, the wood from the bridge would no longer be there due to little bugs eating it!
To finish our day, we gathered in a Bronze Age round house, to hear a magical myth as a fire burned in the centre. After reading the story, we were given the opportunity to make a wish on the magical sword, believed to be the one from the myth. We mustn’t tell you our wishes or they won’t come true!
What a fantastic day!
