Spring Term in Year 2

Written by  on Monday, 13 February 2017.
Jade and Emerald class have had a busy half term. In English they have read and had a go at writing poems using similes, rhyming words and alliterations. They came up with some weird and wonderful creatures that live in "Mr Magoo's Zoo" and things you find behind "The Door".

In Maths children have practiced their multiplication and division skills as well as learning the properties of 2D and 3D shapes.

Both classes enjoyed a visitor from the local drama club, an unusual fairy, who took them with him through the enchanted woods to look for a magic book, that will bring all of his fairy tale friends to life. It was fantastic to see how all of the children took part and engaged themselves in the story.

During the last week of the this term Jade and Emerald made spring rolls. They practiced chopping spring onions (with a really sharp knife!) and peeling and grating carrots. Most of the children said their spring roll was delicious.
